  • The workshop is organized online via Zoom combined with Discord or Miro platforms.
  • Additional tools are used for Notes and Questions (Jamboard), Roundtable Discussion (Padlet), Engaging participants (Padlet).
  • Sessions are 70 minutes long, including 40 mins talk followed by 20 mins breakout group discussion (3 groups of 5 ESRs) and 10 mins wrap-up.
  • The schedule is set at the CET time zone.

Invited Speakers

Samuele Cortese MD, PhD

University of Southampton

Samuele Cortese, MD, PhD  is currently Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Southampton and Honorary Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for Solent NHS Trust. He is also Adjunct Associate Professor with the New York University (NYU). Prof. Cortese’s main research interest are around neurodevelopmental disorders, with a focus on ADHD. In his research, he uses advanced evidence synthesis methods to address clinically relevant questions. He has published more than 230 peer-review papers, including first author papers in prestigious journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet Psychiatry and the American Journal of Psychiatry. He is Deputy Editor for the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and sits on the editorial board of other 5 international journals. He is a member of the European ADHD Guidelines Group, as well as of the child and adolescent psychiatry faculty of the European Collegium of Neuropsychopharmacology (and of the British Association of Psychopharmacology-child and adolescent psychiatry module. In 2020, Prof. Cortese was included in the list of the world’s most influential researchers of the past decade, demonstrated by the production of multiple highly-cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations in the field of psychiatry/psychology in 2019 in Web of Science. In 2020 he also ranked #2 worldwide in terms of expertise on Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) according to Expertscape.

 

Elvira Masoura

Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

Elvira Masoura is an Associate Professor Department of Psychology Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her research interests lie in the area of Experimental Cognitive Psychology with emphasis on memory and language. The largest part of her empirical work concerns the links between these two cognitive systems, from a developmental perspective. Her published work focuses on the function of working memory in clinical and typical populations and examines the contributions of working memory to several cognitive tasks such as vocabulary acquisition, reading, writing, orthography, academic performance and second language learning. The range of age groups that she studys varies from early childhood to elderly people and from typical adults to populations with neurodevelopmental disorders. Her most resent work focuses on development of tools for estimating working memory capacity among children and adults and on the development of computerized training programs that enhance working memory capacity. Recently, she has been involved in projects that investigate the links among executive functions and bilingualism, in diverse educational settings and with main interest the bilingual advantage observed in several bilingual and biliterate groups.

Chris Berry

University of Edinburgh

Chris Berry is the Knowledge Exchange and Impact Manager for the University of Edinburgh’s School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences (PPLS).  In his role, Chris works with colleagues within PPLS and across the University of Edinburgh to ensure that the research undertaken there has maximum impact outside academia, thereby increasing understanding amongst, and bringing benefits to, a range of stakeholders.  Chris has worked in knowledge exchange and communications roles at the University of Edinburgh since 2012, and prior to joining the University held a range of engagement and communications positions, including Director of the Scottish Parliament’s Festival of Politics.  He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing holding a diploma in digital marketing.
